What is CDAP?

Canada Digital Adoption Program — federal grant of up to $15,000 plus a $100,000 interest-free BDC loan to help SMBs adopt digital technology.

The Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) is a federal grant administered by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. It provides Canadian businesses with up to $15,000 to develop a digital adoption plan, plus access to an interest-free $100,000 loan from BDC.

Eligibility

  • Incorporated in Canada
  • 1 to 499 full-time employees
  • At least $500,000 in revenue in one of the last 3 years
  • Active CRA business number

What's covered

The grant reimburses 90% of fees paid to a CDAP-approved digital advisor (capped at $15K) to produce a digital adoption plan. The plan can cover:

  • E-commerce setup
  • Payment processing modernization
  • CRM, ERP, inventory systems
  • Cybersecurity tools
  • Cloud migration
  • Analytics and AI tools

Common mistakes

Most CDAP applications get rejected for being too generic. Plans need specificity about *your* operational gaps — not boilerplate.
